War of the Unknown Warriors

In therapeutic care after an unthinkable act of violence, young Burt is told the tale of a boy from an England of decades earlier. This boy, Eacliffe, his family, and all of England are suffering through the horrors of Hitler's relentless bombings of their homeland. Unable to act decisively, Eacliffe sees himself as a coward, not like his father and brother who have gone to war.

Evacuated to a rural area with other children from the neighborhood, Eacliffe and his sister are taken in by an older couple who will care for them through the rest of the war. It is in this safe, rural setting that Eacliffe, having stumbled upon subterfuge and intrigue, finds the patriotism and courage to become one of the ''unknown warriors'' . . . whose bravery, according to Churchill, ''will never be recorded.''

Mary Dombach lives with her husband in Pennsylvania. Ms. Dombach is a World War II history buff who also loves movies, reading and time spent with her family. She also loves animals and supports various humane leagues. Mary is also the author of Zeera, a thought provoking look at humanity through the eyes of a young woman from another world.
